Indian Coal
Of the four types of coal – lignite, sub-bituminous, bituminous and anthracite; Indian coal is largely subbituminous. Lignite reserves occur in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, India also has bituminous reserves. The varying quantity of moisture, ash, volatile matter and fixed carbon determine the quality of coal. While energy content and sulphur content determine its use and its price. Hard coal deposits are spread across eastern and south central areas of the country. The country is self-sufficient in terms of coking, non-coking and tertiary coal reserves. We collaborate with major coal producing States across India: (Gondwana Coalfields) Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal; (Tertiary Coalfields) Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Nagaland.

We manage timely freight payments and co-ordinate submissions of rake allotment programmes to railways.

We also advise on coal mixtures to maximise the fuel’s calorific value.
